Target Audience This program is targeted to office-based primary care providers and other health professionals with updates in primary care medicine Learning Objectives Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to: - Utilize history and physical examination to distinguish weakness from non-specific symptoms - Explain the differential diagnosis of seizures - Compare the side effect and clinical pharmacology profiles of anti-epileptic drugs - Describe the differential diagnosis of headaches and migraines - Utilize prevention and treatment strategies for cerebrovascular disorders - Diagnose and manage patients with asthma - Design treatment strategies reflective of current evidence-based medicine for common respiratory infections - Describe the current therapeutic management of COPD - Discuss diagnosis and screening strategies as well as treatment plans for lung nodules and lung cancer - Diagnose deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism and discuss appropriate therapeutic options - Identify when imaging and/or referral to an ENT is necessary for patients presenting with a neck mass - Recommend appropriate systemic and/or topical antimicrobial agents for the treatment of sinusitis - Review the basic allergic pathways that affect the body, with particular emphasis on the nasal and sinus regions - Accurately differentiation between sensorineural and conductive hearing loss - Identify management approaches for tinnitus - Identify evidence-based tools to determine best practices in incorporating all necessary elements in the annual women's health visit - Describe approaches to counseling patients for making complex contraceptive decisions - Discuss the current evidence and recommendations regarding breast cancer screening - Assess and manage abnormal uterine bleeding - Describe the management of abnormal pap smears and HPV
