For 135 years, the CPNLF association organized its international colloquium, one of the oldest and most prestigious Francophone psychiatry congresses, in a city in France or the Francophone community in the world. From now on, it is the Francophone Network of Psychiatrists, Neurologists, Neuroscientists (RFP2N) that takes over, the CPNLF association now managing the history of its history intimately linked to the development of psychiatry through the expertise of its reports since the 19th century and the relations with the Francophonie. This year, the city of Arcachon was chosen. It's a young city, founded in 1857 under Napoleon III. Thanks to the arrival of the railway, it quickly became a fashionable seaside resort. The Pereire brothers built the Ville d'Hiver (Winter Town) there, famous for its elegant villas. Located on the edge of the Arcachon Basin, the city developed thanks to the tourism and oyster farming, which remains an essential activity today. In partnership with the Arcachon Hospital Centre, it will host health professionals in fields including Psychiatry, Neurology, Psychopharmacology, Addictology and Neuroscience, to name just a few of the key specialties in the management of mental illnesses.
